COVID 19 infection has posed an unforeseen predicament both for the patients and the treating oncologist .

In absence of any previous data it is very difficult to manage cancer patients where the treatment itself is supposed to reduce the immunity of the patients and increase chances of infection and increased morbidity and mortality .On the other hand , it was  considered a crime to withhold chemotherapy / immunotherapy to patients  who were responding to the disease . The role of immunotherapy was still more dubious . However , the response we had achieved by the use of immunotherapy for our patients during COVID times has been very encouraging .

I think its high time we take all due precautions and continue with our patient care.
