Lung cancer is one of the most common cancer. It is seen more in tobacco smokers. They normally have cough ,weight loss ,fatigue ,weakness ,chest pain and blood while coughing. There are two main types of lung cancer Non small cell lung cancer or small cell lung cancer.

Treatment

Treatment of lung cancer depends upon the stage of the disease and on the type of cancer.

1. Surgery to remove the tumour  are usually done in stage 1 and stage 2. this procedure of treatment is mainly done to remove the tumour.
2. Chemotherapy are drugs which are given to patients as injections . In stage 3 , patients receive both chemotherapy and radiotherapy . In stage IV , patients receive chemotherapy and immunotherapy .
3. Immunotherapy are used in stage III or IV lung cancer . There are injections which are given along with chemotherapy .
4. There are also certain oral tablets which can be given in stage IV lung cancers . Their usage depends on certain specific types of lung cancer.
5. Radiotherapy is normally given in stage III disease along with chemotherapy . It can also be used in stage IV disease for spread of disease to other areas like brain , bone etc.
